A LITTLE ABOUT ELLIOTT
This is who I am.
The early years
I was born in Rockville Centre, Long Island, New York, on July 24, 1936, and the world hasn't been right since. My mother was probably one of the first single parents, and she sure loved her boy. I lived in Amityville ( in the same house they show in "AMITYVILLE HORROR') until I was about 7, and then I was shipped off to boarding school, in Yonkers. The name of the school then was "Hastings on the Hudson", I found it once thru Google but since then they have changed the name again, I think.
At 10, my mother shipped me to Homestead, FL, to live with my Grandmother, She joined me a year later. Just after she got there we had the 1947 Hurricane, demolished everything. The government ( I don't know who they were then ), gave mom a 1938, Covered Wagon 18' trailer. Don't think that wasn't a hassel, both of us were large people. We lived in that until I was 16. At about my 17th birthday I got into a little trouble and they asked me if I wanted to join the Marines, I figured that was better then the alternitive. I sure learned a lot from those people. In 1957 when I got out, a lot better person, I went to the UofNM, and got a BS in Electrical Engineering ( Electronics major ). And for 20 years made a pretty good living in the communications repair field, working for myself. In 1982, For some reason, I think it was because it was hard to get people to pay, and I was fedup with losing money. I changed vocations, I started Driving a big rig on the road. I will tell you this, I was as happy as a monkey in a Banana Plantation.
The begining of the end
And then someone must have been real drunk one night and loaded my trailer wrong, cause about 3 hours after I left the yard one Saturday morning, I went to come off of I10 on the off ramp, coming to Panama City, and all 69' of my rig slid on it's side ( and my ear ), for about 300'. Needless to say that was the end of my career as a truck driver. That was Jan. 29, 2000.
After I got done with all my operation and rehabilitation, I went to the local Vocational school, and took a course in computer repair and networking. Didn't think that was enough so I took the class in Digital Design, I liked that.
Personals
I was married once in 1957 to an English Girl, I think that lasted about 2 years, Until I figured out that all she needed was someone to justify her residence in the US.
Glutton that I was, I married again in 1961, couldn't find a reason to divorce her till 1983. By then we had had 3 kids, a son and 2 daughters. And we now have 4 Grandaughters, and they are my joy.
I live on my own land in Fountain, FL, next to one of my daughters, and about a mile or less from my son. Believe it or not I am still friends with my ex-wife, but I am glad she lives in Panama and I live in Fountain.
